Department of Geography, Methods of Teaching and Tourism of Poltava National Pedagogical University named after VG Korolenko, it recruits for accredited educational programs:
014.07 Secondary education (Geography) – teacher of secondary education, teacher of professional educational institution, methodologist of the educational office, head of out-of-school institutions of various directions, organizer of extracurricular and out-of-school educational work with students.
103 Earth Sciences – a specialist in economics as a researcher; organizer, advisor, consultant of institutions and organizations that cover recreational, environmental, geological, meteorological, hydrological activities.
242 Tourism – a specialist in enterprises, institutions and organizations of all spheres of tourism; holds the positions of travel agent, organizer of trips (excursions), instructor of recreation, instructor-methodologist of tourism. As well as in public administration at all levels (local, district, regional).
106 Geography – a specialty focused on the formation of specialists in integrated geographical research, mapping (using geographic information systems), managing the development of the region, environmental management, etc.
Practical training
During their studies, students have the opportunity to annually combine theoretical knowledge with practice, traveling in Poltava, Carpathian region, Volyn, Azov, Black Sea, as well as other countries – Turkey and Bulgaria.
International cooperation
The Department of Geography and Methods of Teaching of Poltava National University named after VG Korolenko is an active participant in the international credit mobility project under the Erasmus + EU program for education at the University College of Copenhagen (Denmark). For two years of cooperation there was an exchange of pedagogical experience of teaching geography during lectures and teaching practices.
